Instructor: Mrs. Guarnere

Grades 11-12. Prerequisite: Honors Physics I and Honors Chemistry I.  Strong math skills are recommended in this advanced-level lab-oriented course. Understanding of basic physics principles and the ability to apply these principles in the solution of problems, in order to pass the AP Physics Exam, is the major goal of the course.

AP Physics provides a foundation in physics for students in the life sciences, pre-medicine, and some applied sciences, as well as other fields not directly related to science.

The goal of this class is the successful completion of the AP Physics I examination.  This examination can qualify a student for up to four hours college credit according to their score and the university.

Educational goals will be reached through lecture, problem solving, guided discovery and inquiry laboratories, and projects.

Assessments will be through lab, quizzes, projects, problem solving and examinations.
