School Health Advisory Council
The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is established by the Board of Trustees to assist the district in making decisions related to health and wellness education.
The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is comprised of people selected by the district from different areas of the community and from within the school district. The majority of members must be parents who are not employed by the district. The purpose of SHAC is to assist the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in health education instruction.
Port Neches-Groves ISD supports the eight components of a Coordinated School Health Program:
- Health Education
- Physical Education
- Health Services
- Nutrition Services
- Counseling, Physiological, and Social Services
- Healthy School Environment
- Health Promotion for Staff
- Family/Community Involvement for Schools
