Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tricia Sandell
My name is Tricia Sandell and I am a third grade teacher here at Van Buren Elementary. I have been teaching for 24 years and totally LOVE what I do. I started out teaching fourth grade for three years at Tyrrell Elementary in Port Arthur before moving to Highland Park Elementary in Nederland. While there for 19 years, I taught second and third grades as well held the position as assistant principal. I can honestly say that I am so glad to be home! There is nothing like PNG!
A few things you probably don't know about me is that I grew up in Groves. I actually attended Van Buren when I was little, and then went on to Groves E, GMS, and finally PNG High School. After graduation in 1991, I attended Lamar University and received a B.S. in Education. I even did my student teaching with Mrs. Patsy Edmonds here at Van Buren. In the year 2000, I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar.
I am married to Don Sandell and have three children, Landon-18, Tate-15, and Brinkley Kathryn-11. We live in Port Neches and all of our children attend PNG schools.
It is my job to make a positive impact on each and every child in my classroom . Sometimes I am the brightest part of his/her day, and it is up to me to make a difference!
