Welcome Port Neches Warriors!

Are you ready for a historical adventure? I am looking forward to what we will be learning here at PNMS. There are so many interesting people, places and events that we will cover during this 2022-2023 school year.  Our journey starts with the Native Americans and doesn't end until the year 1877, when we cover the Reconstruction Era.  I have a lot of exciting activities and events planned and we do have a lot to cover and discover about OUR NATION'S great history; the numerous people, places, and events that have made America what it is today!  All I require from you, WARRIORS, is to show up, think positively and be prepared “to paddle your own canoe...”.   Here are just a few things you might want to know before our departure.

  • I have over three decades of experience teaching.
  • I LOVE History!  I always have, in part, due to my own mom’s interest in it!
  • I really do enjoy teaching history and making the past come alive in and out of the classroom.
  • The 16th President is my all-time favorite.  But the 7th President, well, I am interested in him for a totally different reason.  Let me just say he was known as a “troublemaker” and a “fighter”.  He said,  “Americans are not perfect people, but we are called to a perfect mission.”
  • I believe history is everywhere around you!  I’ll prove it!
  • I ask questions to find out about my students, so be prepared!

Some things you might want to think about:

  • Who do you consider to be YOUR favorite President of the United States?
  • What is YOUR favorite historical topic or favorite subject to learn about?
  • How do YOU learn the best and what do YOU expect to learn this year?

Are YOU ready to get started on our historical adventure?  I definitely am!  OK, Warriors, get your paddle out and I’ll meet you in the canoe.
