HOMEROOM - 4
Instructor: LORI FOSTER
WELCOME TO 4TH GRADE! I am looking forward to getting to know a whole new group of 4th graders this year. We at PNE have made schedule and cluster changes to better prepare your child for the academic challenges they will be facing this year. We are excited to get started.
Here are a couple of things you should know about me. First of all, I am a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan! I never miss a game and am always a little sad on Monday morning if they lose on Sunday. (fingers crossed for a winning season!) I graduated from PN-G a long time ago, so I also have purple blood running through my veins! Most importantly, I keep my room really cold, so please send a light jacket for your child to keep in their locker. It's really breezy under the A/C vents and I don't want anyone getting sick.
Your child will have 3 classroom teachers this year. I will be their homeroom teacher and will teach them Reading and Social Studies. The next teacher they will go to is Mrs. Walters for English. This is a creative writing and grammar class. Your child will be exposed to many new skills in this class, but Mrs. Walters makes it fun. The next class they will go to is Math and Science with Mrs. Smith. If your child does not know their multiplication facts, start practicing them now! 4th graders multiply A LOT and knowing their facts will make their life a lot easier!
I will pick students up from the auditorium at 8:10 each morning. Please make sure your child is at school by then. At 8:10, they come to the classroom, copy the agenda for the day, turn in homework, sharpen pencils, use the restroom, and get ready to start the day. Pledges and announcements begin at 8:20, and I begin Reading immediately after.
I am excited to meet all the new 4th graders and welcome them to our family. I look forward to a challenging and exciting new school year.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
