Taft Elementary was built in 1965 as an elementary school for grades one through six. The 1973-1974 school year brought Kindergarten classes to Taft. In 1982, Taft became a Kindergarten—Third grade campus and it remains that way today. Even though Taft is over 35 years old it is the newest elementary school in our district. Furthermore, it was the first school in our district to have air conditioning. There have been six principals at Taft: Jack Borman, Frank Motycka, Donald Mott, Sara Jo Murphy, Nathan Addison and the current principal Staci Gary.
