Mrs. Brashers' 2nd Grade Class
Hello! Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Amy Brashers. I am so happy to have your child in my class. I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
I graduated from PN-G High School in 1997 and went to Lamar University. In 2002, I graduated from Lamar with a degree in Education and a specialty in Math. I taught 4th grade in Orange for one year before I came to Van Buren. This is my 17th year at Van Buren. I taught 3rd grade for seven years, and this is my tenth year in 2nd grade.
I am married and have two step-daughters and 3 sons. My husband, Kevin, and I will be married for 17 years in March. He works for Newtron in Nederland. My step-daughter, Courtney, is 26 and is a cardiovascular radiologic technologist at St. Elizabeth Cath Lab. My step-daughter, Shelby, is 24 and will graduate from Lamar in May. She is studying to be a teacher. :) My son, Brady, is in eighth grade at Groves Middle School, and my son, Blake, is in sixth grade at Groves Middle School. They both LOVE sports and keep us so busy in the evenings and on the weekends. I also have a son, Braxton, who will be 4 in May!
I look forward to getting to know you and your family as the year progresses.
